Corndog Clarity
Submitted by gnellie on Tue, 02/26/2008 - 00:25.
Hi y'all --
National Corndog Day has definitely caught fire this year, and we're excited with all the enthusiasm. I did just want to clarify one thing about NCD -- free corndogs are not guaranteed. We can't always support the tremendous enthusiasm, so determinations of which parties get dogs will be made based on a couple of criteria: previous hosting status, geographic diversity, and when your party was submitted.
We'll try to accommodate as many folks as possible, but don't yet know what that final number will be. We'll try to get that out soon.
Many thanks.

Coppell Fire Dept. Red Hot Corn Dog Party
Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
It will be a blazing good time no matter what happens! :)
National Corndog Day
My party will go on whether I get free corn Dogs or not. Corn Dogs are a staple food in my house at least 2 boxes a week and will continue to be. Everyday is National Corndog Day at my house. That first bite of corndog reminds you why you eat them.
Foster Farms.. here to you for sponsoring National Corndog Day!
We will be ready and the corn dogs will be ready to serve.
still planing to party
I havent recieved the "email" on my parties status so I thinking im going to have to downsize the orginal party but still plan to have it and we have many great events schuduled and was even able to get a local sponser who paid to print up tshirts for our party and donated prizes for our eating contests for the kids
BASKETBALL, TATOR TOTS, BLUE
BASKETBALL, TATOR TOTS, BLUE RIBBON BEER, AND FOSTER FARMS CORNDOGS-My family and friends are ready for the day That is peeping around the corner for the party! I,m waiting on National Corndog Day with the twinkle in my eye and the refrigerator full!
Sheila,s & Rics
I cant wait!!!!
I get all GIDDY just thinking about this!!! Ive never heard of eating corndogs with tator tots, I just stocked up on Corndogs(Foster Farms of course) got me like 3 boxes of them, tator tots from Costco, and later in the week, Ill buy a few cases of Pabst beer. Hopefully my friends can chip in and bring some beer of that kind too. My girlfriend's even more excited, she turned 21 this year, and I'll have to show her how to drink a few beer...or two..or three...LOL, CAN'T WAIT!
Corndogs
I would really like to know if Im getting mine lol. My party is in a Week and I invited alot of people. Hopefully I wont have to tap the old bank account haha.
CORNDOG DAY WILL GO ON!
We are going to celebrate....
even if we don't get the corndogs...we love basketball, corndogs, and beer..I have a freezer that's ready for the corndogs. I think people who take advantage of free things are lame..hope it doesn't ruin it for the loyal and new folks wanting to get started on the tradition. Good luck guys!!
Where to buy?
Does anybody know what stores in NYC carry Foster Farms corndogs? (or any other brand, for that matter) I want to start stocking up now. I tried FreshDirect, but they only have vegetarian corndogs---sacrilege!! I am a Louisiana girl, transplanted here (against my will, lol) in the middle of vegan/vegetarian/sushi city, and I SO want a real corndog right now. We used to get them at the State fair in Shreveport, or at Corn Dog on a Stick, and they were delicious! The cheese bars were to die for also....I'm so hungry right now.
I agree about the Walmart
I agree about the Walmart super center. I checked just in case I will have to purchase them and yes they have them. There was just the one variety, but they carry them. Didn't check any other stores in the area though. I'm just hoping they have more than what was displayed. There were only about 6 boxes that day.May have to order.
to mkbjon
I am way across the country from you, but if you have Walmart Supercenter where you are, they carry them. I "think" the Supercenters are all over the country, but not sure. Also, I had checked with Kroger (king soopers and City Market in my area) and they will order some for you if they don't already carry them. Good Luck to you!
Shocked!
I just logged in to check out the 2008 poster and was shocked to see how many parties are listed. My first thought was that there was a mistake on the site but I began reading all these comments and after hearing about the slickdeals post I totally understand.
I have hosted or attended NCD for 6 years and I'm a disappointed that someone would take advantage of Foster Farms generosity by posting this on a freebie website. Getting free food is not the spirit of NCD, but whether or not I receive the free dogs (though it would be nice) I'm hosting my party and will continute to do so in the future.
Not shocked! Glad!
I really can't say that I agree, it is never surprising how many people take advantage of free stuff - isn't that why they have free stuff??? It says right here on the website to tell your friends, that means they want to get the word out - what a better way to do that then to put it somewhere where people from all over can see that it even exists! What is the point of Foster Farms and Pabst Blue Ribbon spending money to host something that just a handful of people know about - now they have a choice as to where they can concentrate their advertisement budget - yeah to slickdeals for helping them spread the word!
As for me, free corndogs or not, I am now an official NCD partier!!!
Smart girl. Couldn't have
Smart girl. Couldn't have said it better myself. Where's the giving spirit in everyone? Don't you like to share??? I think the sponsors appreciated the word getting out. Go NCD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
will party anyways
its my sons birthday party,so we are gonna be having a party anyways.so if im not picked i will just have to spend alot more money.my kids and family love corndogs.my brother always says if you dont like corndogs and mustard you are un-american,lol.i really do hope we get picked.ive never hosted in the past, but went to one last year,it was alot of fun.
Yayyy
Im glad everyone is excited about corndogs i think i have mentioned how excited i am about the corndogs everyday!!!My husband and my anniversary (1 year) is on the same date so instead of going out to some fancy resturaunt we are staying in with friends and eating corndogs and i dont think there is a better way to celebrate!!!! Im so excited!!!!! I have been craving them so badly and i think im going to eat a whole box by myself!!!!
awaiting corndogs
Certainly hope our party is selected for the annual corn dog celebration - it would certainly be an honor for Idaho- the spud state.
Since the parties are gonna
Since the parties are gonna be mostly friends and families...can always make them a byo...whatever...LOL! That way, no one is out too much, and everyone still has a great time. Just tell everyone to bring whatever they want, as long as it has to do with beer, tater tots or corn dogs!!! Then, the hosts greatest expense will be disposables and trash bags! Hope everyone has a blast!
it'll be corndog/game day here
We'll be celebrating my son's 21st birthday
with a surprise party of beer, basketball and corndogs.
I just know he'll be delighted and we'll get some awesome vid and pics:)
It's no problem for me if I
It's no problem for me if I don't get the free dogs. I have been working on eating as much as possible out of my freezer so that I can make sure to buy enough corndogs in advance for my party. I only just found out about NCD a week ago so my party won't be too big 10-20 people. It not like corndogs for that many people are going to break my bank. Sure it would be nice to get the free dogs but it has no impact on whether or not I will be hosting.

Dogs in the freezer
I'm pretty sure I won't get picked for free dogs, but that's ok. I have 8 boxes in the freezer right now and I plan to buy more the day of the event (I'm out of room). If free dogs show up, I'll be really excited and I'll have to invite more people over. I bought 6 regular boxes at my local costco and 2 of the extreme cheese. Has anybody tried the extreme cheese? They look and sound amazing. http://www.fosterfarms.com/products/product.asp?productcode=95130
Extreme Cheese
I'm hoping to try the Extreme Cheese also. I love cheese. My WSC only had regular, so will have to look elsewhere or request them.
Maybe I can dip mine in cheese sause if I can't find them in time!!
We still believe in Corn Dog Day!
FG is ready for our third annual! So many have inquired about eating the famous "oregon" Foster Farm Dogs. We Love Oregon and We Love Foster Farms!
from one Oregonian to another!!!
You have that soooooo right!!! I live within a couple miles of at least a couple Foster Farm chicken growers and I know how stigent they are about making sure everything is "perfect" to make sure we get the best product! These truly are the BEST you can get!!!!!!!!
Amen to that!
We may be in Virginia, but Oregon is our home! Go Ducks!!!
NCD Party
We are having a huge party at the club house in our apt. complex. I told the managers about it and they though it would be a good idea. Afterwards, we are having a big Easter egg hunt behind the club house.

Corndogs!
Well, sometimes we need a good reason to get together with buddies for food and drink so I'll definitely invite people over to chill with me for NCD. This is the first time I've heard of it but it's better late than never! =)
I'm sorry to hear...
That the "slickdeals effect" may kill this for a lot of loyal people. The person posting the stolen pics is just crappy. That's why so many believed this really was open to everyone.
Yes, I want to host a corn dog party. I'm quirky and this is just my cup of mustard! If we get the free dogs, that would totaly kick ass, but if we don't, I love this brand and my local store carries them. So, either way - Corny-ON!
Slickdeals - WTF
For those of you wondering (and before I get any nasty emails), I just wanted to clarify the fact that someone lifted my roommate and my picture (with the corndog boxes) off the NCD site and posted on slickdeals without our permission. Imagine my surprise when folks starting emailing me about our picture being on some random site. How about a little respect folks - don't pretend to be someone you aren't and don't screw up NCD for the rest of us.
Wow, that's messed up! And
Wow, that's messed up! And disappointing that someone on SD would stoop to such a level. Thanks for letting us know.
I admit I was alerted to NCD by the Slickdeals post, but I really love corn dogs. Read my account and you'll see why. I am still planning to celebrate NCD regardless of what happens. It's my friend's birthday and she loves corndogs too, so guess what we're having at her party? :)
seriously someone took your
seriously someone took your picture? RUDE!
Pic was taken down
I mod alerted the picture post. They have finally removed your picture. :)
That's cool. I can downsize
That's cool. I can downsize & buy some on my own.
I am so glad
That we found a site like this. My family are corndog freaks, and are happy to be part of a community of other corndog freaks. This is going to be a great tradition to start with my family and friends. And its another great excuse to get together to eat and drink our selves silly while celebrating two great things this year. NCD day and my sons 10th birthday. Next year cant come soon enough!!
Free dogs!
Seeing as this year's corndog event was MY idea, I plan to put my money where my mouth is, and provide the dogs regardless. It should be the event of the year! Viva la corndog!!!
Corn Dog Search
I realize we may not get picked as an official host but I want to have a get-together anyways. Just in case I looked at our local County Market and they don't carry any frozen corn dogs. Does anyone know of a grocery store in the area that does?
where to buy....
I saw they have them at Gordons food service in bulk...I tried out the recipe under the recipe tab and they were good although I need to practice getting them to look like regular corndogs...They looked a little funky..:)
If i don't
get any free hot dogs...i'll probably just buy a jumbo pack of regular dogs from costco and do some hand dipped corn dogs at home.
mustard lovers holiday
It all about corndog. The staple of fair go-ers everywhere. I am having my party to celebrate this beloved food of adults in second childhood! What a great theme.
it don't matter to j
we can still worship the corndog on saturday, pray to the porcelain god on sunday. trust me, corndog day is a holy event.
while i'm glad we got all 50 states, it kinda blows that this got out to a shit ton of free stuff websites, forums, blogs etc. people who just want a bunch of corndogs and don't know the true meaning of corndog day are probably the same people who killed santa when i was 8.
i look at it this way... if you don't get picked are you still going to celebrate? well you should. even if you don't get cases showing up at your door. run to the store, pick up a couple of packages of dogs and tots, some beers and join in on the fun.
Bush-league
I knew something was wrong when I saw all the hundreds of parties...spammers? Nah....and then I see...Slickdeals. And it all makes sense. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, but hopefully when all the ringers realize they aren't gonna get free corndogs just for filling out a form they won't come back next year.
NCD 4 LIFE.
Free corndogs or not this is
Free corndogs or not this is a really fun idea. I had never heard of it before, but I love corndogs and my birthday is the 20th of March so I'm planning a corndog birthday party for myself.
ha ha ha
these comments are hilarious, look at all of you trying to cover your slickdeals butts. don't shake in your boots, they can't prove you're all scammers
aka. OMG, i'm so excited for NCD again this year...we haven't celebrated since my mom died in 2000:( This is our first year back...hoping to be one of the lucky ones to get tons of free hot dogs....ha ha ha lol.
I agree.
I am disapointed that somebody would take advantage of a generous sponser, let alone post it on a site like slickdeals. Happy National Corndog Day everybody!
With around 5,000 "parties",
With around 5,000 "parties", and only 115 last year, obviously the word got out with the promise of free corn dogs. I am truly grateful that Foster Farms and the NCD people have been able to provide for the past few years. Hopefully they reward loyalty this year, as this is my 3rd year as an official host. Free dogs or not, National Corndog Day isn't about the promise of a free 'dog, it's the fact that we live in a country where we can eat corn dogs and tots and drink beer and celebrate the great sport of NCAA basketball!!!
I'll second that!
This will be our 3rd year hosting as well and it's going to be huge! We have no idea where everyone is going to park let alone fit in our house!
Yeah NCD!
Foster Farms is Awesome!!!
Hopefully I get to host a NCD party this year. March 22nd 2008 is going to be a great day! I bet everyone is going to have a rememberable day seeing as the 23rd of march this year is Easter. lol. Everyone is going to be hungover and sick from Inhalling to many corn dogs and tator tots and lots of beer. And I am proud to say I am going to be one of those people!
We will still be haveing a
We will still be haveing a party regaurdless. This year its falling on the same day as my little sister's wedding shower so we are going to have a traditional wedding shower for the women at my mom's house and all the guys are going to be at my house watching the game and since mom lives next door we plan on the women walking over after that party to join in on the corndog festivites. Hope it turns out to be a fun event for everyone.
Party on!
We are partying on with or without the freebies! Corndogs are the best. I fear Slickdeals.net is going to ruin this for alot of folks though.
During Holy Week?
I am surprised that none of you thought that this would be holy saturday before Easter. I would have loved to have my church participate, but not on this date. anyone else notice this?
